MSC Time was built for Construction companies and trades.
Before we developed MSC TIME Online Time Sheets, I helped manage a construction company and dealt with processing payroll and bills. I experienced the need for this system first-hand and was able to customize it from the inside out. I got to use it first as user and then as a software programmer. As a result, our employee time tracking system delivers exactly what is required for construction contractors. Since I am fortunate to have an IT background as well as a construction background, it only made sense to marry the two together.
The construction company peaked at 30 employees. I found that the majority of my time was now chasing down time sheets; mapping employees to the projects they worked on and creating elaborate excel spreadsheets to track the labor costs by task per project. I soon found that I was re-typing all of this data into spreadsheets. The time spent simply getting the data from paper into the computer took hours each week. I knew that I could create simple forms on my own website for my employees to enter online time sheets. I had some guys that never used computers and implementing this meant that it had to be dead simple, bullet-proof and easy to use for everybody.
